After hosting O Access the highest rated entertainment show in Africa at the time, I felt compelled to share my lessons with the youth. I needed to impart the positive energy, thoughts and wisdom I had experienced throughout my journey and career, with young people. In 2007, I established Nonhle’s Angels program, named after my late aunt, in order to help inspire young people worldwide who felt alone, isolated or unloved. Through my Angels program I took the time to give back. I also took time to hear what these young people had to say, as well as what they thought and hoped for.
Through Nonhle’s Angels I reach out to the Youth of my continent through motivational seminars to schools, charities, groups and universities. Focusing on issues we as young people are constantly faced with such as career choice, self-esteem, spiritual upliftment, peer pressure, relationships, confidence, breakups, love, health, poverty, sickness, depression, divorce, heartache and grooming issues.

I used my role as the first African international face of L’Oreal’s brand Dark and Lovely to reach out to the youth. I drew on my own life experience in my talks to help these young kids realize how they could overcome any of the above-mentioned issues because I too had been through them all. I’m not perfect, but I’m constantly telling myself I’m a fighter. I believed that I would make it through no matter what and  with God by my side, no amount of pain could overcome me and no dreams could elude me. Through self belief, sacrifice, dedication, hard work, being able to listen to others who have walked before you and through Gods love you can be all that you want to be in life and more.
On a recent trip to Los Angeles I spent time with CURE, an inner city after school program that helps and encourages young people to make the right decisions. I approached them and offered my services as an inspirational speaker whilst I was in LA. Fortunately for me they agreed although it was my first talk outside the African continent and they did not know me. They were, however, open to my story and discovered I had encountered similar issues as them. They all gave me smiles and said they felt inspired. After the talk one of the staff wrote to me saying, ”I have known some of these young women for a considerable amount of time and have never heard them speak their minds… they began last night to find their voice.” A voice they that I am so blessed to have helped find and it is just that effect I hope to have on the young people in my program. That amazed me and I realized I could do this on a global scale, it is possible! I have so many dreams to change lives and I feel the blessings God has trust upon me are for purpose of serving others.

The fans I have all across the globe have made me have an even bigger heart and desire to be there for them just like they were for me through my TV shows, endorsement deals and journey in this industry. I just want to do this; I want to help as many young people out there as possible.
